Founder & Owner
Steve is the founder of Hedge Knight Productions and the driving force behind the company's vision of bringing authentic medieval tournament combat to modern audiences.
With extensive experience organising competitive duelling events through both Hedge Knight Productions and his role as Club Secretary of Invicta Medieval Combat, Steve combines a passion for armoured combat with a deep understanding of event management and organisation.
Away from Hedge Knight Productions, Steve actively competes with Invicta's first team, representing the club at tournaments throughout the UK and across Europe. His experience as both a competitor and organiser has given him a unique appreciation for the excitement, skill and spectacle that competitive armoured combat can provide.
Steve is a national-level sword and shield duellist, regularly bringing home medals from tournaments across the UK and abroad.
After developing a particular love for the duelling side of the sport, Steve recognised that while medieval-themed entertainment was widely available, nobody was offering genuine full-contact armoured duelling as a professional event experience. In 2026, he founded Hedge Knight Productions with the aim of changing that — creating an entertainment company built around real competition, real armour and real spectacle.
His goal is simple: to transport audiences back to the age of the medieval tournament and give guests an unforgettable experience unlike anything else available in the UK.

Hedge Knight Productions draws its fighters from some of the strongest armoured combat clubs in the United Kingdom. Our roster includes national representatives, international competitors, medal winners and rising stars from across the sport.
Every fighter is selected not only for their skill and competitive achievements, but also for their ability to deliver exciting, entertaining and memorable performances for our audiences. Whether they specialise in longsword, sword and shield, polearm or full-contact armoured combat, each brings their own unique style and personality to the tournament field.
No two Hedge Knights are quite alike.
Below you can meet just a few of the fighters who help bring our tournaments to life. While not every member of our roster is featured here, these profiles offer a glimpse into the talent, experience and characters that make Hedge Knight Productions unlike anything else in the UK.

With over 13 years of experience in the sport, Rowland is one of the most respected and accomplished fighters on the Hedge Knight Productions roster.
As the long-serving captain of Invicta Medieval Combat, one of the oldest and strongest armoured combat teams in the United Kingdom, he has played a key role in developing generations of fighters and helping establish Invicta's reputation on both the national and international stage.
His achievements on the field are equally impressive. Rowland has represented the United Kingdom in Sword and Shield competition as recently as 2025 and remains a regular competitor at the highest levels of the sport across all major duelling disciplines. Combining technical skill, tactical intelligence and years of hard-earned experience, he is a formidable opponent in any format.
Affectionately known throughout the community as "Badger" thanks to his distinctive grey-and-black hair and beard, Rowland is proof that experience counts for a great deal in armoured combat. While the grey hairs may suggest a veteran of countless battles, they certainly do not indicate a man slowing down anytime soon.

Originally from Brazil, Bruna somehow looked at the sunshine, beaches and vibrant culture of South America and decided that Kent was the superior option. The jury remains out on that decision.
What is not in doubt is her status as one of the most accomplished fighters in the sport.
Captain of the KnightMares, the UK's premier female armoured combat team, Bruna has dominated the UK longsword scene for years, holding the number one ranking in the UK league for the last four consecutive seasons. Her success extends well beyond British shores. In 2025, she achieved a world ranking of #2 in longsword, cementing her place among the elite duellists on the planet.
Her achievements are not limited to a single discipline. Bruna is a consistent top-three competitor in both Sword and Shield and Sword and Buckler, while also boasting an impressive background outside of armoured combat as a two-time Muay Thai state champion.
As if that were not enough, she was part of the teams that claimed World Championship gold in both 5v5 and 12v12 Buhurt in 2025.
Known for her technical excellence, relentless work ethic and calm determination under pressure, Bruna is a fighter capable of dismantling opponents with clinical efficiency, regardless of weapon or format.
Fun fact: Bruna has watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail exactly three times. No more, no less.

Every tournament needs a villain, and Alastair is more than happy to oblige.
A towering brute of a man with a fondness for fine clothes, flashy medallions and the contents of other people's purses, Alastair cuts a distinctive figure both on and off the field. Rumour has it that some of his jewellery may once have belonged to defeated opponents, though he remains characteristically vague on the details.
A veteran of almost a decade in armoured combat, Alastair is a regular competitor at national level in sword and shield. Despite his imposing stature, he favours a highly technical and distinctly chivalric approach to combat, valuing precision, timing and skill above simple aggression. In his eyes, bullying tactics are the refuge of lesser fighters, and he is rarely shy about sharing that opinion with anyone willing to listen.
Mercenary and cavalier by nature, Alastair's ambitions extend little beyond securing a full purse, a comfortable tavern and the admiration of any ladies fortunate enough to be in attendance. Whether swaggering through the tournament grounds before a fight or boasting about his latest victory afterwards, he is never far from the centre of attention.
Love him or loathe him, one thing is certain: when Alastair steps into the lists, the crowd always has an opinion.

Despite being only in his third season of armoured combat, George has already established himself as one of the most exciting and dangerous competitors in the sport.
Fighting out of the Northern Wolves, he has rapidly built an impressive reputation on both the domestic and international stage, competing across multiple disciplines including group combat, profights and longsword duelling. His rise through the ranks has been nothing short of remarkable, earning him opportunities to compete at the highest levels of the sport far earlier than most fighters.
Among his achievements are representing the UK in international competition, competing with UK1 at IMCF events, becoming the UK's number one heavyweight contender, and claiming a notable victory over renowned duellist Max Frei in longsword competition.
Inside the lists, George is known for his relentless intensity. Ruthless, explosive and always looking to impose himself on a fight, he is a competitor who gives opponents little room to breathe. A passionate longsword specialist, his energetic style combines aggression, athleticism and technical skill to produce some of the most exciting bouts in the tournament.
When George enters the arena, one thing is guaranteed: the crowd will not be disappointed.

Originally from Sweden and now fighting out of the United Kingdom, JD has rapidly established herself as one of the most exciting and accomplished female fighters in the country.
A highly experienced duellist and buhurt competitor, she competes regularly at both domestic and international level and has represented the United Kingdom at two World Championships. Currently ranked #2 in the UK for longsword, she has built a reputation for consistently taking on — and defeating — opponents with significantly more experience.
Whilst many fighters divide their attention across a wide variety of weapon combinations, JD's preferences are refreshingly simple: if it can be wielded with one hand, she is probably not interested. Longswords and longaxes are her weapons of choice, and she has become known for an aggressive, athletic style that makes her one of the most dangerous competitors in any tournament.
Her competitive ambitions extend far beyond national borders. When opportunities arise, she has even been known to travel overseas to compete in men's tournaments, always eager to test herself against the strongest opposition available.
Whether armed with a longsword or longaxe, one thing is certain: when JD steps into the lists, nobody is taking her lightly.

As a professional stonemason, Matt spends his working days shaping stone with patience, precision and the occasional large hammer. It turns out these skills transfer surprisingly well to armoured combat, where he has quickly earned a reputation for being just as difficult to move as some of the buildings he helps construct.
Despite being relatively new to the sport, with just two years of experience, Matt has already made a strong impression on the tournament circuit. Fighting out of Invicta Medieval Combat, he has represented Invicta Team 2 at multiple tournaments and has amassed an impressive collection of silverware, including the Gathering of the North trophy, a bronze medal at the Leodis Tournament and a silver medal in Sword and Shield at Passage of Arms.
His introduction to competitive armoured combat was certainly memorable. At his very first tournament, Gathering of the North in Sherwood Forest, his team dominated the competition, winning every round except one. In that final bout, Matt found himself facing a daunting two-versus-one against a giant and his considerably less giant accomplice. Refusing to yield, he battled his way to a hard-fought draw, earning both the admiration of his teammates and the tournament trophy they subsequently awarded him.
Still early in his competitive career, Matt continues to develop with every tournament. Opponents should take note: while he may build walls for a living, he is becoming increasingly adept at knocking them down too.
